This role will focus on developing the European supply chain to meet the requirements of our Aerospace and Military customers. The individual will work closely with R&D, supply chain, project management operations and the customers to ensure efficient delivery to the standards required of the customers. This is a key role with significant individual responsibility for the quality of the European supply chain and delivery to customer need. The individual will work closely with the BMS manager to ensure the internal processes are compliant to AS9100

The Role:

  • Reporting into our Quality Director, you will own the development and implementation of the supply selection and supply quality processes and be a significant contributor to the part approval and project development processes
  • Own the customer quality metrics for the Aerospace business, including working closely with sales, product marketing and aftersales to ensure that customer instigated investigations are processed and supported to root cause and corrective actions are implemented
  • Ensure the inputs and outputs of PFMEAs are of appropriate quality through the supply chain and follow the output so that effective control and risk mitigation are in place during the ramp and production phases
  • Championing problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of defects
  • Responsible for Producing Monthly Supply quality metrics and aligning action plans to ensure WO KPI’s are achieved
  • Owning the AS specific parts of the QMS, creating, developing and continually improving the process and ensuring alignment to the overall QMS
  • This role will require significant time in supplies in the UK and Europe (where travel restrictions allow)

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Experience of working independently and enhancing the quality of the supply base
  • Experience of managing a range of significant suppliers or regions
  • Experience of developing suppliers to meet the requirements of AS9100 and ISO9001:2015
  • Experience of Leading External Supply Quality Audits
  • Ability to read engineering drawing and use of statistical models to ensure capability of production processes. As well as using the data to support recommendation and improvement actions
  • Ability to build long term successful working relationships to ensure the continual improvement culture is present through the supply chain
  • Practical experience Problem Solving Tools, leading supplier to ensure containment, corrective and preventative actions are completed
  • Understanding of how quality practices can be applied to give commercial advantage
  • Experience of implementing Lean philosophy would be an advantage
