We are now hiring a Senior Research Engineer who can investigate the polarisation and coherence effect on our AR technology.This will be joining a dynamic and multidiscipline computational team of modelling engineers and software engineers who are developing inhouse tools which will improve and predict the optical performance of our Waveguide technology.

The role:

  • Based in our state-of-the-art offices in Didcot, Oxfordshire
  • As a Senior Research Engineer you will collaborate across the wider R&D team in order to improve the efficient of optical performance
  • You will be an expert in polarisation raytracing and will be tasked with understanding polarisation and coherence affect for different sources of illumination
  • You will have a strong theoretical background and apply your knowledge of polarisation raytracing to this research
  • You will continue to maintain and improve the system and develop physical models to replace computationally intensive calculations
  • There will be an opportunity to also be involved in other modelling engineering tasks and/or software development depending on your interests and background

What we like to see:

  • Masters/PhD in mathematics, physics or engineering
  • You will have demonstrated in your research/industry that you have expertise with polarisation raytracing and have the technical understanding to investigate this relating to our Waveguides
  • Understanding of colorimetry, photometry and visual optics
  • Understanding of polarisation measurement and modelling, including Jones calculus, Mueller calculus & optical coherence
  • Happy to adapt to short timescales and deliverables
