The role:

  • This is an exciting position for a Senior Engineer who has extensive experience with embedded firmware to be part of a small dynamic systems team
  • The systems team offer both technical expertise and customer support externally and internally, you will be responsible for firmware bring up, integration and documentation
  • Interface with external international vendors and internal hardware, mechanical, manufacturing and software teams
  • This role will be focusing on firmware for systems (C & Assembler), GUI tools (Electron/Flutter) with some work on hardware
  • Involvement in design of firmware and electronic systems for driving pico projectors
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and identify root cause of system failures and communicate with the right team accordingly to solve these issues, whether this is in house or external
  • Documentation of firmware and systems
  • You will work towards developing software processes and tests needed for a multi-person team

What we need to see:

  • Relevant degree with experience in electronics, firmware and software
  • 5 + years of experience in firmware development on resource constrained systems (PIC/Arduino’s/Cortex-Mx)
  • Ability to interpret and test to specifications, datasheets, schematics etc. from suppliers
  • Experience with using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers etc
  • Prototype modification experience


  • Writing device drivers
  • Toolchain setup (makefile generation)
  • SW Debugging (GDB, OpenOCD, etc)
  • HW debugging (as mentioned above: logic analysers, scopes, etc)
  • Experience in client-side scripting (python, bash)
  • Experience in cross platform tool development e.g. Electron, Flutter etc
  • Experience with external customers
  • Project management experience would be an advantage or can demonstrate you can work to time frames and project schedules
