In this role, you will have responsibility for the development of quality management efforts as we ramp up to high volume manufacturing. This is a hands-on role and requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to operational excellence. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer you will develop and implement Quality strategy that improves our product and processes

The role:

  • You will be responsible for quality, reliability and cost reduction of WaveOptics products. This will involve setting specifications, root cause analysis, continuous improvement projects and Quality agreements between manufacturing partners and suppliers
  •  Communicate with multiple internal groups which include R&D, Product Development, Test, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and the Program teams
  • Work directly with customer to manage their quality expectations
  • Develop the process framework used to take products to market
  • Lead supplier quality reviews with senior leadership team
  •  Working closely with suppliers to understand quality related production and material related issues
  • Set key deliverables relating to quality to deliver WaveOptics products
  • Responsible for quality across all departments
  • Ensure all technical risks are identified and mitigated to enable the quality ramp up of our products
  • Responsible for leading accreditation to ISO quality standards in line with WaveOptics’ expansion
  • Responsible for managing and growing the Quality team to support our business expansion

What we like to see:

  •  Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts
  • Previous experience leading a small team
  • Exceptional communication skills and commercial awareness
  • Thorough understanding of product development procedures considering manufacturing and qualification processes
  • Extensive knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Advanced Quality Planning, problem solving techniques
  • Experience setting up ISO quality standards
  •  Dynamic and “can do” attitude who is looking to work with a great product and team.
  •  Happy to travel when required, mainly within Europe and Asia. (approximately 20-30%)
  •  Previous experience working with Asia manufacturing partners would be an advantage for this position
