The role:

The production planning manager works at WO manufacturing partner site as a key contact for production planning, who would work with WO partners and WO internal projects/R&D team in daily basis. You would oversee aspects of production& shipping, including but not limited to production planning, partner relationship, transportation/logistics, warehousing cycle count as well as to find a better way to make the planning process more smoothly and cost effectively.

In this critical planning role, you will be the WO planning expert at manufacturing site in well understanding line capacity and relative key figures to contribute to final capacity numbers. Meanwhile, we expect you could work with our product engineering and provide the creative ideas to optimize production process and further improve these figures and result in capacity increasing continually.

You Will:

Demand management& Planning:

  • Get customer orders and forecast from both internal and external customer work with internal team and partner team to get commitments to customer orders
  • Track the entire order process from order receiving to delivery to ensure on time delivery and service quality
  • Provide monthly production& shipping summary
  • Deal with customers queries relating to delivery urgency and project priority to ensure balance existing resource to reach customer satisfaction
  • Analyse customer forecast and come out capacity request plans to make sure maximum capacity utilization
  • Work out the manpower and equipment capacity request together with partner team for next 3-6 months so that partner ME & Production Department can do some adjustment in advance
  • Bottleneck /Shortages management production plan/provision of components

Inventory Management:

  • Continuously reduce FG stock as well as meet customer delivery request. Make FG planning models, such as MTO, MTS etc.; Set up raw material inventory management strategy, such as Kanban and so on
  • Make the inventory analysis to simulate the inventory trend and make the actions plan to realize the inventory target in quarterly basis; Monitoring and handling the excess and obsolete stock according to company regulation
  • Support for the preparation of the relevant declarations and clearance measures to be carried out considering legal and country-specific points of view in timely manner with trade compliance, logistics cost reduction and logistic forwarder management
  • Coordination and operative administration of the customer packaging with due regard to the corresponding customer standards shared; Shipping arrangement and Manage products delivery according to customer order
  • Manage partner and work with partner team to manage their Supplier OTD, and work with sourcing team on purchasing LT, MOQ reduction; work with suppliers on our raw material inventory management strategy, supplier consignment stock management and support sourcing team on cost down, localization works

What we like to see  

  • Qualification— With a bachelor’s degree or above in Logistics, Production, or even Engineering
  • Experience—Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Supply Chain/planning/PM. Have working knowledge of supply-customer relations, and production planning.
  • Similar industries—high volume/high complexity manufacturing in a similar capacity coupled with demonstration of exceptionable ability.
  • Personality—Self-motivated and managed, High sense of responsibility, Open, and flexible to handle urgent assignments. Team player: ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Soft skills— Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in both spoken and written English and Mandarin. Excellent organizational skills
  • IT Skills –Excellent skills on Microsoft office software, planning & PM related, Minitab, CAD, and any tools related to product/process engineering would be preferred.
  • Bonus—
    • Production Operations Knowledge – a firm understanding of how complex production lines operate including key items such as industrial workings between facilities/departments, line balance, OEE, error proofing, etc.
    • Previous experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
    • Has a well-versed understanding of production line layout, flow, and modelling.
