We are looking for a proactive Electronics Technician to join our Electronics team, as well as supporting the build of modules and components you will support procurement, H&S and continued improvement of our products.

The role

  • Reporting into the Principal Electronics Engineer, this role will be based in our State-of-the-art facilities in Milton Park, Abingdon
  • Lead the effort in creating and maintaining an organized and tidy EE Lab environment
  • Responsible for EE Lab H&S as well as equipment service and calibration
  • Perform start-to-end procurement for the systems team
  • Assisting with PCBA bring-ups, test, measurement, and diagnosis of complex electronic assemblies
  • Responsible for the design and creation of electronic testing jigs and cable assemblies
  • Design work (Schematics and PCB layout) depending on candidate
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies down to component level
  • Develop and document test processes for WO electronics systems
  • Furthering product development by providing feedback on modules and components

What we like to see

  • Excellent hand soldering and rework skills, e.g. QFN, SMD down to 0201
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, e.g. schematics, datasheets
  • Ability to operate bench power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc
  • Knowledge in generic PCB manufacturing, assembly, and testing capabilities
  • Motivated, innovative, and self-starting


  • Experience with electronic components’ handling and assembly
  • 5S knowledge
  • Basic experience of running code scripts from terminal
  • IPC standards knowledge
  • Optics experience
