The role:

  • This is an opportunity to work with a high calibre test team in our new state-of-the-art facilities in Abingdon, Oxfordshire
  • Reporting to the Head of Test you will be part of a team who are responsible for bring up, debug and characterisation of WaveOptics Augmented Reality waveguides, projectors and module product family
  • The Characterisation team are responsible for Identifying, defining and delivering through to completion, the testing and metrology methods both for imaging and non-imaging systems (such as luminance, uniformity, colour, MTF, stray light) across manual and automated test regimes
  • Record and distribute knowledge experimental results to guide next generation products
  • Utilise technical knowledge to information commercial decisions that impact product and team
  • Review and interpret characterisation results, and communicate findings across the development teams
  • Highly analytical with experience disseminating knowledge internally and externally
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • You will keep updated on research activities internally & externally to empower you to develop innovative products to the AR market

What we like to see

  • Degree in Optics, photonics, electronics or engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience in laboratory work and in setting up of high quality and reliable optical measurement systems in a results-oriented environment
  • You will have a background in optics or have studied these areas at University in your degree
  • Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW or Python
  • Hands on industry experience within a research and development facility
